Welcome to Bloomfield High School

Dear BHS Parents and Guardians,

I can’t believe it is already October! We have had a great first quarter so far. I wanted to take a moment to emphasize the critical importance of punctuality, attendance, and responsible behavior for our high school students.

Getting to school on time and attending all classes is not just a matter of following rules; it's an essential aspect of your child's learning journey. Here's why:
1. Academic Success: Regular attendance and punctuality are directly linked to academic success. When students miss class or arrive late, they miss valuable instruction and may struggle to catch up. Consistent attendance ensures they receive the education they need to excel.
2. Building Responsibility: Being on time and attending classes instills a sense of responsibility in students. It teaches them that their commitments matter and that they are accountable for their actions.
3. Respect for Others: Arriving on time and attending classes shows respect for teachers, classmates, and the learning process itself. It creates a positive learning environment where everyone can thrive.
4. Safety Matters: Knowing that your child is in school and accounted for is crucial for their safety. It provides peace of mind for parents and educators alike.

We also want to highlight the importance of being responsible, respectful, and safe while at school. Encourage your child to:
Respect Teachers and Peers: Teach them the value of treating others with kindness and
respect. This fosters a positive atmosphere conducive to learning.
Follow School Rules: Reinforce the importance of adhering to school rules and policies to
ensure everyone's safety and well-being.
Report Concerns: Encourage open communication. If your child encounters any issues or concerns, they should feel comfortable reporting them to a trusted adult.

By working together to emphasize these principles, we can help our students grow into
responsible, respectful, and safe individuals who are well-prepared for success in both their academic and personal lives.

We also want to highlight some upcoming dates:
October 11th : Seniors attend College Fair at SJCC
October 13th : End of quarter
October 18th : Report cards mail home
October 18th : PSAT/ASVAB for 10th and 11th grade students. (9th and 12th grade students will attend school virtually on this day.)
November 2nd and 3rd : Parent Teacher Conferences

Thank you for your partnership in your child's education. Together, we can create a supportive and enriching learning environment.
