Registration Guides

We hope that this guide will help you and your parents design your four-year high school plan. We also hope you will continually review your career goals and accordingly make necessary changes in your plan.

Your counselors and teachers are available to help you in planning your program of studies, but we urge you and your parents to discuss your educational goals and plan your program based on these goals. Consider the following as you make your four-year program:

  • All students at Bloomfield High School must enroll in seven classes and may be an aide only once during a given year. Exceptions are granted by principal approval only when extreme extenuating circumstances exist. Seniors may enroll in classes at San Juan College and receive both high school and college credit. See details under "College Credit Classes." All Freshmen and Sophomores are required to enroll in seven classes. Juniors and Seniors who meet the requirements may enroll in one course at the Career Technical Education Center, three classes at BHS and "Travel Time." See CTE details under "CTE Classes."
  • Know what the graduation requirements are (see below). What about college entrance, armed services or vocational school requirements? Be sure to meet these in your planning.
  • If in doubt about credits for graduation or college or vocational school entrance, see your counselor.
  • Before selecting a subject, check the course description to be sure it fits your needs, interests, and abilities. Is the cost of the course a problem? Have you completed the prerequisite course work necessary?
  • You must have teacher or principal recommendation or approval for many of the courses. Some courses require a personal interview or audition. Be sure to have these before registration.
  • Students need to be aware that schedule changes will be very limited and only in extenuating circumstances. Therefore, students should select their classes very carefully.
