Bloomfield High School is a Title 1 school located in Bloomfield, New Mexico, which is in the Four Corners area of Colorado, Arizona, Utah and New Mexico. The high school's 1500-square mile attendance area covers the town and communities south and east of Bloomfield along US 550 and US 64. Each year approximately 700 students attend grades 9-12. The diverse student body is 40% Native American, 30% Hispanic/Latino, and 30% Caucasian/non-Hispanic. A wide variety of seasonal and year-round extra-curricular activities are made available to all students.
The school's colors are Blue and Gold and the mascot is the Bobcat.
Curriculum
BHS runs a modified block schedule. Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays students attend all seven periods for 50 minutes each. Tuesdays, students attend odd classes (periods 1, 3, 5, 7) for 90 minutes each. On Wednesdays students attend even classes (periods 2, 4, 6) for 90 minutes each with a mandatory 30-minute student mentoring time between periods 2 & 4. Intervention and enrichment are offered during the 90-minute block periods.

College credit classes: A number of our students are taking dual credit classes-some on our own high school campus with our teachers as adjunct faculty. Some students drive 25 minutes to San Juan College (SJC) to take classes on campus while others take SJC online classes for dual credit.
